Joy Yang, LICSW

Joy Yang, LICSW, is currently a licensed clinical social worker in the Student Mental Health and Counseling Department at MIT. There, she provides individual and group psychotherapy to undergraduates and graduate students, as well as outreach and consultation to faculty, staff and parents. She also recently began running a group for Asian women to aid connection and provide support around academic stress, family issues and mental health. Overall, her clinical interests lie in relationships, identity development, adjustment to life changes, grief, anxiety and depression. However she is most passionate about her work with Asian adolescents and young adults and seeks to improve their lives through encouraging self- reflection and self-compassion. She received her Masters in Social Work at Boston College.
