Nhi-Ha Trinh, MD, MPH

Nhi-Ha Trinh, MD, MPH, serves as the Director for the Department of Psychiatry Center for Diversity at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Trinh is committed to fostering a more diverse and inclusive academic community and is devoted to educating students, trainees, staff, and faculty in cultural sensitivity and humility to both improve patient care, the hospital workplace culture, and the medical learning environment. Dr. Trinh has served as faculty at MGH since 2007.

Dr. Trinh earned her MD at the University of California, San Francisco, and her MPH at the University of California at Berkeley, specializing in Epidemiology. She completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry at the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Training Program and a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at McLean Hospital. She is a residency training mentor for the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Training Program and is course director of the residency’s longitudinal Sociocultural Psychiatry didactics series. She has more than a decade of experience in the education and mentorship of mental health trainees, specifically those from underserved and minority backgrounds.
